In the Ukraine the new government asked the separatists n the
south-east to disarm or face military action. The new president
sticks with this course.
Te government refused and refuses talks with the separatists.
The question why do they refuse talks with their own people
who are in uproar. Chances for a peaceful solution were gone
quickly because of this.The government and the new president
so drive just a oppressive and violent course against its own
people in that part of the Ukraine in uproar.
That such things are different in other countries shows Britain,
which allows Scotland a referendum for their independence from
them..

The people in the south-east Ukraine held a referendum and a
vast majority voted for self-rule and eventually union with Russia.
This referendum was held hastily with errors in it. The US and
Europe did not recognize the referendum.

My idea is: the president of the Ukraine should offer the
separatists to hold a new referendum about their independence
which should meet international standards then with international
observers. He would accept the outcome. In return the separatists
should stop fighting and promise to accept the outcome of such a
referendum.

This could be a way out of the deadly fighting in the Ukraine and
give way to the will of the people in the South-East of the Ukraine,
which means democracy.

The US and Europe will probably not want such, they prefer to
subdue  the whole of the Ukraine to the western mainstream for a
better basis for future fights with Russia.
